Super Bowl and beyond

The Cowboys missed out, but I am still looking forward to the culminating game of a great football season. Im not puling any of the sappy underdog saber-rattling  today. Tonight I want to see History. The Patriots were the first team to go undefeated in a 16 game season, and for them to win the finish out 19 and 0 would be nothing short of spectacular. I said 3 weeks into the season that the Patriots had already won the Super Bowl after I saw exactly how dynamic they were with a denounced and pronounced DOA Randy Moss. He surpassed even my expectations as he and Brady teamed up to break Both Jerry Rice and Peyton Mannings’ records for most touchdowns in a season.

I look forward to next year. The Cowboys went 13 and 3, and they aren’t even yet as good as they can be. Im not sure they would have been able to beat the Patriots, although they would of had a better shot than the Giants. Im not sure how confident that Wade Phillips will be able to get us where we need to go. While I am sad to see Tony Sparano leave for the dolphins because the defense was really starting to click at the end of the year. They need to use the 2 first round draft picks they have efficiently to shore up their deficiencies in the secondary and aging offensive line. If they can keep Jason Garrett to promote to head coach after next season the Cowboys are going to be formidable for a long time.
